Shaymaa Alhabib: From My First PhD Poster to ISTH 2026
Shaymaa Alhabib, PHD Student at Bicêtre Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
”July was a month I won’t forget.
First, i had the opportunity to attend the ULLA Summer School at the University of Geneva, where I presented my PhD research as a poster for the first time.
It was really an exciting chance to discuss my work with fellow PhD students and researchers from across Europe.
Beyond the science, one of the highlights was discovering the beautiful city of Geneva together during an escape game.
Later in the month, I attended ISTH 2026 in Paris, where researchers and clinicians from around the world gathered to share the latest advances in hemostasis, thrombosis, and bleeding disorders.
It was a great opportunity to learn from experts in the field and exchange ideas with an international scientific community.
I was especially proud to see our laboratory represented in the scientific program, with my colleague Mouna Mahmoud presenting her work on the ‘Therapeutic potential of an agonistic single-domain antibody stimulating Protein S in sickle cell disease’.
It was also a pleasure to see our group leader Cécile Denis, moderate a prestigious plenary session and contribute to advancing research in the field of von Willebrand disease.
I’m grateful to everyone who made these opportunities possible, and I’m looking forward to the next steps in my scientific journey.”
