“WHO consolidated guidelines for the management of Sickle Cell Disease in children and adolescents.
The guideline notes: ‘The choice between exchange and simple RBC transfusion should be guided by clinical urgency, local resource availability and the potential for improved outcomes with exchange transfusion’.”
