Zeyad Bady: Advancing Thrombosis Research on the International Stage at ISTH 2026

“Just wrapped up an incredible week at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) 2026 Congress in Paris!
It was an absolute privilege to participate in such a premier gathering for the global thrombosis and hemostasis community.
During the congress, I had the distinct honor of delivering an oral presentation sharing our network meta-analysis findings on the comparative efficacy and safety of Factor XI inhibitors in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty.
In addition to the oral session, it was a fantastic experience to present two posters and discuss our methodologies and data synthesis with experts in the field.
Beyond the presentations, the true highlight of the week was the people. It was an invaluable experience to network with distinguished faculty and fellow aspiring physician-scientists from across the globe, exchanging ideas that will undoubtedly shape future clinical research.
On a personal note, it was wonderful reuniting with my supervisors from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). A special shoutout to Fynn L. Elvers—it was brilliant catching up in person so soon after concluding my research fellowship, and thanks for the pictures!
Finally, this wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing coauthors and colleagues: Ahmed Talkhan Yusof Mohamed Omar Mahmoud Mohamed and the rest of the team.
I am leaving Paris feeling incredibly inspired, carrying new insights back to my clinical internship and research projects. Looking forward to the next steps!”
