Erin VanDyke: This Month Was Full of Meaningful VTE Moments
Erin VanDyke, Vice President of NBCA Centers of Excellence, shared on LinkedIn:
”October has been a whirlwind — and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
From celebrating policy wins to program growth, collaboration, and awareness — this month was full of meaningful VTE moments:
Attended the groundbreaking event celebrating the Emily Adkins Family Protection Bill, honoring advocacy that drives real change and saves lives.
Visited IU Health Methodist Hospital to celebrate their NBCA Center of Excellence designation and help spread VTE awareness.
Keep an eye on this team—they’re dedicated and bring a wealth of knowledge to the COE program.
Joined Corewell Health’s VTE Coordinator Kristy Thompson at the Emergency Care Specialists symposium, sharing education and insights around VTE care.
Meanwhile, Advent Health East Florida Palm Coast’s VTE Nurse Navigator Michelle L. Manimbo was leading impactful community outreach of her own — showing how awareness truly extends beyond hospital walls.
Rounded out the month with a COE site visit, (can’t wait to share more on this!) an inspiring visit with Stryker/ Inari Medical , and incredible late-breaking results from Penumbra Vascular ’s STORM-PE trial presented at TCT — all reaffirming the progress and passion driving innovation in this field.
October also marked PA Week and World Thrombosis Day, both reminders of the collective commitment to advancing patient care, prevention, and awareness.
I also made it another blessed year around the sun and celebrated 19 years with the love of my life
I’m leaving this month feeling rejuvenated by the heart, collaboration, and dedication pouring into the VTE space — across disciplines, institutions, and industries.
What were your VTE moment this October?
Let’s keep the momentum going — every story, patient, and innovation matters.”
