NIH R35 Grant Supports Dr. Lauren Poole’s Research on Fibrinogen and Immune Responses

“Congratulations to CEED member Dr. Lauren Poole for her recently awarded R35 grant from NIH/NIGMS! Her team will study fibrinogen – an abundant plasma protein and acute phase reactant – and how it interacts with leukocytes to direct inflammatory responses and disease. They are using novel in vivo and in vitro approaches to understand the fundamental processes regulating the expression and pro-inflammatory functions of fibrinogen, laying the foundation for safe and specific therapies targeting fibrinogen.”
