Lisa Murphy on Life After Stroke Sessions at WSC 2025
Lisa Murphy, Chief Executive Officer at Stroke Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
”The World Stroke Organization WSC 2025 has come to an end…and what a great few days of learning and collaboration and new friends!
Such diversity in the life after stroke and lived experience engagement program
Life After Stroke Sessions:
- Creative approaches – with Louis Gustin (comics), Christopher Bailey (Art), Hardeep S. (Photos) and Shamala Thilarajah (creative therapy)
- Inequities – with Joesph Rukelibuga (Rwanda Stoke Action), Bruce Ovbiagele (underrepresented communities), Caitlin Longman (communication difficulties), Dr Emmie Malewezi (low income settings)
- Involvement in research- with Maria Luisa Vives de Delás (setting up Hola Que Tal Afasia), Lisa Kidd (lived experience and research), Michelle L.A. Nelson (journey as an academic) and me (meaningful engagement).
- The SSO Stroke Exchange Workshops starting the ideation of our new organisation framework
- Unpacking research partnerships workshop with Brina Ludwig Prout and Marina Charalambous
A huge thanks goes to Sarah Belson for pulling this all together and my co-chair Michelle L.A. Nelson.
So good spending time with you both!”
