Paul-Ehrlich-Institut Collected and Reported The Blood Supply Situation for 2024
Paul-Ehrlich-Institut shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Blood, blood products and stem cell preparations are indispensable for the treatment of many diseases and injuries. Their production relies on the help of numerous voluntary donors. It is therefore important to monitor the supply situation for blood and blood products in Germany so that measures can be taken to promote blood and plasma donation when shortages become apparent.
Every year, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut collects data from donation centres, manufacturers and healthcare facilities in order to obtain a comprehensive overview of the supply of blood, blood products and stem cell preparations in Germany. The supply situation for 2024 is presented in the report that has now been published.
