Aanika Roshni: When Blood, Biology, and Mechanics Intersect
Aanika Roshni, Chemical Engineering Graduate at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Microvascular Research, adding:
“I’m very happy to share that our paper, ‘Shear stress and blood coagulation: A comparative study of smokers and diabetics, with healthy individuals,’ has been published!
This project has been a particularly memorable one for me.
From working with rheological measurements and coagulation tests to analysing clot microstructure and platelet activation, this research pushed me to learn a great deal and appreciate just how fascinating the interplay between biology and mechanics can be.
I’m incredibly grateful to my co-authors, Salman Farsi Taharat, Syed Washis Aumiyo, and Nafisa Islam, for their collaboration, patience, and valuable contributions throughout this journey.
It was also first first-authored publication of my husband Salman Farsi Taharat and I’m incredibly proud of his passion, diligence and love for research.
Seeing this work finally published is both exciting and deeply rewarding.
I’m proud of what we accomplished together and excited to see where this line of research can lead next.
And yes, I can officially say that this paper literally got my blood, sweat, and tears.”
