Alan Nurden: How P-Selectin Inhibition Can Help Thrombus Resolution

Alan Nurden, Emeritus Research Director at CNRS, Co-Founder of the French National Reference Centre for Inherited Platelet Disorders (CRPP), shared a post on LinkedIn, about a recent article by Julia B. Kral-Pointner et al, published in AHA/ASA Journals:

“A belated acquaintance for me of a highly recommended study showing how P-Selectin inhibition can help thrombus resolution in mouse models.

This is thought-provoking, but could not this be a strategy to consider to resolve thrombi (arterial or venous) in patients with Glanzmann thrombasthenia and whose platelets lack the alphaIIbbeta3 integrin.

Worth looking at in an appropriate model.”
