Céline Chapelle Shares Clinical Predictors From the API-CAT Trial

Céline Chapelle, Biostatistician at CHU Saint-Étienne, shared on LinkedIn:

“Very happy to share our latest publication in Lancet Haematology.

“Predictors of clinically relevant bleeding during extended anticoagulation for cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (API-CAT): a post-hoc analysis of a randomised, non-inferiority trial”

In this post-hoc analysis of the API-CAT study, including patients with cancer-associated thromosis (CAT) receiving extended anticoagulant with apixaban: – Four clinical predictors were significantly associated with an increased risk of clinically relevant bleeding: anaemia and/or thrombocytopenia, age ≥75, pulmonary embolism as the index event, and male sex.

Three of them were also significant predictors of major bleeding.

Many thanks to all co-authors and collaborators for this excellent teamwork.”
