Essential anatomical knowledge for performing routine and complex cesarean delivery – Lateral hysterotomy hematoma
Anterior view of the uterus. Hemorrhage between the 2 layers of the broad ligament extends to the retroperitoneal space. Clinically, this presents with hemodynamic deterioration, and initial imaging studies (ultrasonography) may yield false-negative results due to the bleeding’s deep posterior location.”
