“DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)
A condition in which a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the leg. It can cause pain, swelling, warmth, and redness, and may become life-threatening if the clot travels to the lungs.
Physiotherapy Role:
- Early mobilization (as advised by the doctor)
- Ankle–foot exercises to improve circulation
- Graduated compression therapy (if prescribed)
- Breathing exercises to reduce complications

Cellulitis
A bacterial infection of the skin and underlying tissues, causing redness, swelling, pain, and warmth in the affected area.
Physiotherapy Role:
- Elevation of the affected limb
- Gentle movements to reduce stiffness

- Skin care and mobility training
