Leonardo Roever: The Role of Non-Pharmacological Interventions in Post-Stroke Quality of Life
Leonardo Roever, CEO of Brazilian Evidence-Based Health Network, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Ha-Young Park and Insun Yeom, published in Quality of Life Research:
”Effects of Non-Pharmacological Interventions on Post-Stroke Quality of Life: A Meta-Regression
Stroke remains a leading cause of long-term disability, with survivors experiencing a substantial decline in health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
While non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) are known to improve HRQoL, it remains unclear which modalities are most effective and which planning features maximize HRQoL outcomes.
In addition to confirming the overall benefits of NPIs, this study demonstrates that both the modality and duration of the intervention are key determinants of HRQoL improvement after a stroke.
These findings provide evidence-based guidance on how non-pharmacological rehabilitation programs should be structured, highlighting the importance of psychosocial components and sustained intervention duration to maximize quality of life outcomes in stroke survivors.”
