Manikandan Subramanian: We Show That Impaired Macrophage DNase Secretion Drives the Persistence of NETs

Manikandan Subramanian, Group Leader and Deputy Director of Research at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share our latest study in Circulation Research!

We show that impaired macrophage DNase secretion drives the persistence of NETs (neutrophil extracellular traps/DNA webs), impairing dead cell clearance and contributing to atherosclerotic plaque instability.

Our findings highlight new therapeutic avenues to restore inflammation resolution and improve cardiovascular health.”

Title: Macrophage DNases Limit Neutrophil Extracellular Trap–Mediated Defective Efferocytosis in Atherosclerosis
