Michael O’Shea: Safety of DOACs Versus Warfarin in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease
Michael O’Shea, Assistant Professor and Instructor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Heart Rhythm O2, adding:
‘How safe are DOACs in Tetralogy of Fallot and PA-IVS?
We found ~5× higher bleeding with DOACs vs warfarin, particularly in patients with worse RV function.”
