Nicole Chan: Emerging Role of the Gut Mmicrobiome in Cancer Therapy-Related Cardiac Dysfunction

Nicole Chan, PhD Candidate at Adelaide University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Cardiovascular Research, adding:

“I am thrilled to share our review article has now been published in Cardiovascular Research (European Society of Cardiology):

‘The gut-heart axis in cardio-oncology’

As cancer survival rates improve, there is an increasing need to better understand and address the long-term cardiovascular complications associated with cancer therapies.

In this review, we explore the emerging role of the gut microbiome in cancer therapy-related cardiac dysfunction and discuss how gut-derived metabolites, intestinal barrier dysfunction, and systemic inflammation may contribute to cardiac outcomes.

A huge thanks to my co-authors, collaborators, and supervisors for their guidance and support!”
