Paolo Zamboni։ New Findings Highlight PLXND1 as a Critical Mechanosensor in Primary Lymphedema
Paolo Zamboni, Full Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University Hospital of Ferrara, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Kar-Lai Pang et al., published in The Journal of Clinical Investigation, adding:
”A breakthrough in primary lymphedema pathogenesis.
The mechanosensor PLXND1 stimulated by the lymphatic shear stress is the main orchestrator of the lymphatic valve transcriptional program.
The discovery has been confirmed by the screening of patients with primary lymphedema which demonstrates PLXND1 missense variants.”
