Saeid Soltani: Systematic Review Evaluates Treatment Strategies for Prosthetic Valve Thrombosis
Saeid Soltani, Assistant Professor at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in American Heart Journal Plus: Cardiology Research and Practice, adding:
“I am pleased to share that our research article has been published in the American Heart Journal Plus.
‘Thrombolytic Therapy versus Cardiac Surgery for Left-Sided Prosthetic Heart Valve Thrombosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.’
In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we analyzed 114 studies involving 6,514 patients to compare thrombolytic therapy with cardiac surgery for left-sided prosthetic valve thrombosis.
Our findings demonstrate comparable treatment success between the two strategies, while thrombolytic therapy was associated with lower in-hospital mortality, providing important evidence to support clinical decision-making.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all my co-authors and collaborators for their dedication and invaluable contributions to this work.
It has been a privilege to work alongside such an outstanding team.
I hope this publication contributes to advancing evidence-based management of prosthetic heart valve thrombosis and encourages further research in this field.”
