Sara Zalghout: Linking Bacterial Virulence to NETosis and Thromboinflammation
Sara Zalghout, Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at KU Leuven, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, adding:
“Behind every publication is a story that rarely makes it into the paper.
I am very happy and proud to share that our manuscript, ‘Staphylococcal coagulases amplify fibrinogen-dependent NETosis by S. aureus in human neutrophils and exacerbate early thromboinflammation in mice,’ has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH)!
My sincere thanks to all my co-authors and collaborators for their contributions.
A special thank you to the reviewers for their constructive comments, which helped make our manuscript more rigorous and stronger.
Finally, many thanks to my PI, Kim Martinod, for her continuous guidance and support.
May we always have the determination to keep pushing forward.
Here’s to continuing to grow, learn and celebrate the wins along the way.
More to come!”
