Shadi Tabibian: Tazehnameh November 2026 Covers Key Developments in Hemophilia Care

Shadi Tabibian, Deputy of research at Blood Diseases Research Centers in Iran University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I’m pleased to share the November 2026 issue (Issue 2) of ‘Tazehnameh‘, the monthly bulletin of the Iranian Comprehensive Hemophilia Care Center (ICHCC), co-owned by ICHCC and the Blood Diseases Research Center.

Published in Persian in the first week of each month, ‘Tazehnameh’ now also has an English mobile edition. The PDF is attached.

This issue covers news published from 23 September to 22 October 2026, drawn from peer-reviewed articles and official announcements, rewritten in plain language and supported by numbered references.

Highlights include:

  • FDA review of denecimig (Mim8), extended because of manufacturing-site remediation, not clinical data
  • Swiss consensus on desmopressin, recommending a trial before therapeutic use
  • Launch of the WFH Treatment Guidelines Resource Hub
  • New US ICD-10-CM code D69.11 for Glanzmann thrombasthenia, relevant to Iran, where Glanzmann is more common due to consanguinity
  • Two high-titer inhibitor cases after AAV gene therapy (ASC618), reported in Blood
  • World Thrombosis Day 2026‘s focus on women’s health, and two ‘How I; papers in Blood on women and girls with bleeding disorders

The dossier, ‘Novel hemophilia therapies — surgical and safety considerations,’ covers emicizumab in special situations, including Canadian registry data (n=710; mean ABR 1.00 to 0.47); rebalancing agents (fitusiran, concizumab, marstacimab) in surgery; 15-year EUHASS thrombosis baseline rates; and a patient checklist for before surgery or dental work.

Evidence on surgery, trauma and acute illness with these therapies remains limited. Decisions should be made with the treatment center.”
