”I’m happy to share a study I participated in, now published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis
This study shows that Piezo1 gain-of-function mutations prolong channel opening, leading to sustained calcium entry into platelets.
This primes platelets into a preactivated state, helping explain the thrombotic risk in hereditary xerocytosis patients.
