”Proud to share our latest study published in American Journal of Cardiology.
In patients with severe aortic stenosis and concomitant coronary artery disease, we compared a fully percutaneous strategy (TAVR plus PCI) with the traditional surgical approach (SAVR plus CABG) using Kaplan–Meier–derived individual patient data.
Key findings:
- Early survival advantage with TAVR plus PCI, followed by a mid-term survival reversal favoring SAVR plus CABG
- Lower rates of stroke, atrial fibrillation, acute kidney injury, and reintervention with the percutaneous approach
- Higher risks of paravalvular regurgitation, pacemaker implantation, and vascular complications after TAVR plus PCI
These results highlight a clear time-dependent trade-off that should inform Heart Team decision-making and patient selection.
