Fahad Khaliq on When is Ticagrelor Preferred Over Other Antiplatelets
Fahad Khaliq, Doctor of Medicine at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, reposted from Muhammad Moor on X:
”Faster, potent, better, reversible, better mortality results
But here’s the plot twist!
If a patient is already on anticoagulation/high risk bleed, Clopidogrel is preferred
Rule of thumb:
• STEMI pt undergoing PCI: Ticagrelor
• STEMI pt undergoing Thrombolysis: Clopidogrel”
Quoting Muhammad Moor‘s post:
”Why is Ticagrelor sometimes preferred over other antiplatelets in acute coronary syndrome (ACS)?”
