Eyiuche Ezigbo Calls for Stronger VWD Awareness and Better Care in LMICs
Eyiuche Ezigbo, Associate Professor at the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Unit within the Medical Laboratory Science Department at the University of Nigeria, shared on LinkedIn:
”Yesterday was von Willebrand Disease (VWD) Awareness Day — an important reminder that many bleeding disorders remain underdiagnosed, particularly in low-resource settings like Nigeria.
We are committed to strengthening awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and improving access to quality care for individuals living with VWD.
Increasing knowledge among healthcare professionals and the public is a critical step toward better outcomes and improved quality of life.
Let us continue the conversation, support those affected, and work together to close the gaps in bleeding disorder care.”
