Dr. Carol Kasper: Honoring the Legacy
Brian O Mahony, CEO of Irish Haemophilia Society, former President of WFH and EHC, shared a devastating news on X:
”I was immensely sad today to hear of the passing of Dr. Carol Kasper, a pioneering treater of haemophilia, a great researcher, a wonderful writer (her Hemophilia Bulletin in the 1990s and early 2000s was the best source of information). I had the great pleasure of working closely with Carol from 1994 to 2002 when she was Vice President Medical of The World Federation of Hemophilia and I was President. She was immensely knowledgable, a great teacher and very empatetic. She was great fun to travel with and had a great sense of humour. She added value to many lives.”
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Carol Kasper, a pioneering figure in hemophilia care and a beloved member of the global bleeding disorders community.
Dr. Kasper was not only a brilliant clinician and researcher but also a gifted communicator—her Hemophilia Bulletin in the 1990s and early 2000s remains one of the most insightful resources of its time.
Her legacy will live on!
