Omolade Awodu Awodu։ Charting a Sustainable Path for Inherited Blood Disorders in Nigeria
Omolade Awodu Awodu, Lecturer in Haematology, Consultant Haematologist at University of Benin and University of Benin Teaching Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It has been an impactful two days in Abuja, where government leaders, clinicians, patient organisations, development partners, and other key stakeholders convened to chart a sustainable path forward for persons living with inherited blood disorders in Nigeria.
The discussions were solution-driven and focused on strengthening policy integration, domestic investment, capacity building, and coordinated partnerships to improve care delivery.
I am honoured to be part of this important engagement. Together, we can advance equitable and sustainable care for individuals living with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and haemophilia in Nigeria.
My sincere appreciation to all participants for their commitment, and to the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation for their continued and invaluable support.”
