Alok Khorana: Six Years of Transformation, A Lifetime Commitment to Change
Alok Khorana, Vice Chair of the Taussig Cancer Institute at Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It’s been a dynamic six years of growth and transformation as I reach the end of my second and final term as Chair of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board of National Blood Clot Alliance. From creating the Council for Emerging Researchers in Thrombosis (CERT) to effective public policy advances at state and federal levels such as the passage of the Emily Adkins Act in Florida, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Leslie Lake. She is an inspirational leader who has changed the boundaries of what’s possible in this patient-led organization.
I’m excited to hand off leadership to incoming Chair Jeffrey Zwicker who I’m absolutely confident will lead the Board to newer and greater heights.
Finally, I’m absolutely delighted to remain involved with MASAB and NBCA as Chair Emeritus. Much has been done to alleviate the public health and individual burden of thromboembolism but much remains to be done.”
