”I’m pleased to share that Heart and Stroke has released a pre‑notice for an upcoming Grants‑in‑Aid: Indigenous Research Stream funding opportunity as part of the 2026 Grants-in-Aid research competition.
This exciting funding opportunity is support Indigenous‑led research focused on heart and/or brain health research that is grounded in self‑determined priorities, Indigenous ways of knowing, and advancing Indigenous knowledge and data for community‑driven impact.
The pre‑notice is intended to give researchers, communities, and partners time to prepare and plan ahead of the full funding launch.
I’m deeply grateful to the Indigenous scholars and community partners whose guidance has and continues to shape this work.
This is an important step toward strengthening meaningful, respectful, and impactful research approaches grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and doing.”
