Pregnancy-Induced Rise in FIX Activity – A Challenge to International Hemophilia Guidelines – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Claire Kelly et al, adding:
“Contrary to Current Guidance, Antenatal Factor IX Levels Increase in Female Carriers of Hemophilia B
A large Irish cohort study of 49 carriers across 87 pregnancies demonstrates that plasma FIX coagulant activity significantly increases during pregnancy, challenging existing international hemophilia guidelines.”
