Marian Galovic: When, Why and How to Perform an EEG After Stroke?
Marian Galovic, Neurologist at the University Hospital of Zurich, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Annals of Neurology, adding:
”When, why and how to perform an EEG after stroke?
Our SeLECT Consortium explores the role of post-stroke EEG in two articles published in Annals of Neurology, the newest hot from the press just today.
In brief, an early EEG helps prognostication of future epilepsy, particularly in patients without acute symptomatic seizures.
A longer EEG (continuous EEG) is better and we explore when prolonging EEG monitoring is particularly useful.
Original Paper last year.
Brand new article on continuous vs. short EEG.”
