“Managed a challenging and rare neurovascular emergency today — a complex right ICA aneurysm presenting with recurrent nasal bleeding (epistaxis), successfully treated with flow diverter (FD) placement through an endovascular approach.
Recurrent unexplained epistaxis can occasionally be a warning sign of an underlying vascular pathology, especially in cavernous or skull base ICA aneurysms.
Early diagnosis and timely neurointervention are critical, as these lesions can be life-threatening if missed.
Flow diversion offers a minimally invasive and highly effective treatment strategy by reconstructing the parent artery and promoting gradual aneurysm thrombosis while preserving normal cerebral circulation.
Cases like these highlight the evolving role of endovascular therapy in managing complex cerebrovascular diseases with precision and safety.”
