Amirreza Jabbaripour Sarmadian: My First Paper as Corresponding Author on Upper Extremity DVT Following COVID-19 Vaccination
Amirreza Jabbaripour Sarmadian, Medical Researcher at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Clinical Case Reports, adding:
“June 2023 marked an important milestone in my academic journey: the publication of my 5th paper and first paper as a Corresponding Author!
The paper was titled ‘Upper Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis Following BBIBP-CorV COVID-19 Vaccine (Sinopharm Vaccine): A Case Report’ and was published in Clinical Case Reports from Wiley.
Main Finding:
In patients presenting with acute symptoms such as pain, swelling, and erythema of the upper extremities shortly after receiving COVID-19 vaccines, including inactivated virus vaccines, clinicians should consider the possibility of thrombosis as one of the differential diagnosis.
At the time of publication, the article attracted considerable attention on X and was the main topic of discussions within the medical community!
This paper will always hold a special place in my heart. During only my second month of clinical clerkship, I encountered this patient in the ward. What began as a memorable clinical encounter eventually became a published case report, thanks to the invaluable guidance and support of Prof. Ali Riazi.”
