Erica Wood: WHO Launches Landmark Action Framework to Secure Safe and Equitable Blood Supply Worldwide
Erica Wood, Professor and Head, Transfusion Research Unit, School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University, Consultant Haematologist at Monash Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Congratulations to the World Health Organization on publication of the Action Framework ‘Action Framework to advance universal access to safe, effective and quality-assured blood products, 2026–2030’
Important gaps in policy, governance, financing, regulation, supply, safety and clinical use of blood products exist nationally, regionally and globally.
The action framework will support Member States and partners to address these issues and provide timely and equitable access to life-saving products for patients who need them.”
