Thomas Stauch: ITP Therapeutics Enter a New Era of Targeted Treatment
Thomas Stauch, Founder of Hematology and Oncology Practice in Jena, Consultant Physician at Jena University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Always great to listen to David Kuter speaking about ITP.
His work has shaped our understanding of immune thrombocytopenia for decades and has influenced the care of countless patients worldwide.
At EHA 2026, Prof. Kuter presented the final long-term extension results of the LUNA 3 study evaluating rilzabrutinib in persistent and chronic ITP.
Beyond the data itself, it is inspiring to see a true pioneer continue to drive innovation and challenge our thinking in a field that has evolved tremendously over the last years.
From corticosteroids and splenectomy to TPO receptor agonists, SYK inhibition, BTK inhibition, FcRn blockade, complement inhibition, and emerging immune-modulating approaches, the therapeutic landscape of ITP has never been more dynamic.
Much of this progress has been accompanied, influenced, or inspired by leaders such as Prof. Kuter.
Thank you for your lifelong dedication to advancing ITP research and improving the lives of our patients.”
