Brian A Beh: An Open Letter to Lisa Murphy Honouring the 30 Years of the Stroke Foundation’s Dedication

Brian A Beh, Honorary Consumer Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health, shared on LinkedIn:

”An Open Letter to Lisa Murphy, CEO, Stroke Foundation….

On the 30th anniversary of the Stroke Foundation, I want to offer my warm congratulations — not only to those who serve the organisation today, but also to the many dedicated people who laid its foundations and shaped its early years.

Their vision and commitment created the platform upon which the modern Stroke Foundation now stands.

Like many Australians, I first became aware of the Foundation only after my own stroke in 2016.

Since then, I have watched — and personally experienced — a remarkable evolution.

The level of service, empathy, and practical support offered to survivors and their carers has grown manifold over the past decade.

It is no exaggeration to say that the organisation has become a national force for good.

I would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Lisa Murphy in her role as Chief Executive Officer.

Lisa, her leadership has been exemplary.

In her role,Lisa have brought talented people into the organisation, strengthened its culture, and infused it with a clear, unwavering commitment  to reducing — and ultimately eradicating — the impact of stroke in Australia.

For this, I offer my personal thanks and my deep respect.

While recognising the dedication of the Foundation’s staff, I would also like to publicly acknowledge the personal support and assistance I have received from Diana Kerr and Simone Russell.

Their guidance has been instrumental in my journey, and I remain deeply grateful for their professionalism, kindness, and unwavering commitment to stroke survivors

The Stroke Foundation’s 30 years represent not just longevity, but progress, compassion, and purpose.

May the next 30 be even more transformative.”
