”Reflections from a phenomenal ISTH Congress in Paris!
Attending this year’s International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) congress was a powerful reminder that transforming care for the bleeding disorders community requires much more than just laboratory breakthroughs.
It demands a holistic, long-term dedication to reshaping how individuals affected by bleeding disorders experience daily life.
Progress is driven by a deeply connected network of patients, clinicians, advocacy groups, and industry partners working together to dismantle existing barriers and build a healthcare framework that stands the test of time.
My three highlights were:
- Collaborative Momentum: The energy throughout the congress halls proved that real innovation happens when we work together and listen to the lived experiences of families and healthcare providers.
- Leadership in Action: I am incredibly grateful to the leadership across Roche and Genentech who were on the ground with us, engaging directly with the community to share our vision and commitment to advancing science for generations to come. Thank you Teresa Harris Graham Padraic Ward and Charlotte Owens, MD, FACOG for your engagement and demonstration of our long-term commitment to individuals with bleeding disorders.
- An Enduring Promise: At Roche and Genentech, we are not focused on short-term milestones. We are committed to remaining in this space to deliver even better medicines that are accessible to the individuals who rely on us.
- A special shout out to our congress leads: Omar Khalil and Bianca Heidersdorf, and to key partners across Roche and Genentech who came together to demonstrate our long-term commitment Mauricio Bordonaba Darine Ghanem, Kelly Fathers, Jose Vicente Cardona, Romain Chafaie, Gina Noh, Juliana Lagrasta Biondo and Tony Lin and many more. I am incredibly grateful and proud of the several colleagues who showed up to listen, learn and take the next steps forward together. I’m returning home fully energized for the journey ahead.
