Emily Bury: From Emerging Evidence to Better Patient Care at ISTH 2026

Emily Bury, Advanced Nurse Practitioner for Thrombosis at St.Vincent’s Healthcare Group, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A fantastic few days at ISTH 2026 in Paris, with rich learning, inspiring discussions and valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues from around the world.

It was exciting to see women’s health take centre stage, including the launch of the ‘Women’s Health Hub‘—a significant step towards advancing research, education and equitable care for women with thrombosis and bleeding disorders.

Another key highlight was the continued focus on ‘cancer-associated VTE‘, with the ‘API-CAT trial‘ demonstrating that extended treatment with ‘reduced-dose apixaban’ was non-inferior to the full treatment dose for preventing recurrent VTE, while reducing clinically relevant bleeding.

Delighted to attend alongside Tracy Egan of the Irish Heart Foundation – (supporting Thrombosis patients).

Looking forward to bringing insights from ISTH back to support better patient care.”
