Fateme Babaha: Pleasure to Present A Novel FVIII Gene Therapy Enhancer at ISTH 2026

Fateme Babaha, PhD in Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen’s University, shared on LinkedIn:

”It was a pleasure to present my research at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) 2026 Congress in Paris!

It had the opportunity to present my work, ‘Efficacy of AAV-mediated FVIII transgene expression employing a short enhancer element from the human F8 locus,’ and to connect with researchers and experts in the field of hemophilia and gene therapy.

In this study, we investigated a novel, compact 92-bp enhancer element from the human F8 locus and its potential to improve FVIII transgene expression for hemophilia A gene therapy.

I’m grateful to my supervisor Dr. David Lillicrap for his continued support and to everyone who stopped by my poster for the insightful discussions and questions.”
