How a PERT Team Navigates Severe Pregnancy PE – JTH

Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Management of intermediate- and high-risk pulmonary embolism – a case of a pregnant patient

Acute pulmonary embolism ranges from mild symptoms to shock, and severe cases demand rapid multiparameter assessment, ideally through a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team that pools multidisciplinary expertise.

Pregnant women, routinely excluded from randomized trials, have no specific guideline recommendations for severe PE.

This case-based review follows a pregnant patient with high-risk PE to outline how clinicians can approach intermediate and high-risk disease.”
