“Not all high platelet counts are created equal.
Thrombocytosis can be:
Reactive (infection, iron deficiency)
Clonal (MPNs like ET, PV)
Hereditary (rare mutations)
Spurious (lab artifact)
Knowing the type guides workup and treatment!”
