David McIntosh: Why Do Blood Supplies Still Fall Short?
David McIntosh, Founder and Chair of United Plasma Action, shared Marilena Vrana‘s post on LinkedIn:
“This interesting post from Marilena Vrana raises some rather puzzling questions… doesn’t it…
- How can it be that an absolutely essential item of medical supply is not always in stock and readily available?
- How can any advanced Healthcare system tolerate repeated ‘worrying’ events of this kind?
- Given that blood is absolutely always needed, every hour of every day, why, after 100 years of trying, are so many Blood Transfusion Services still failing in the simple task of predicting, programming and delivering reliably adequate supplies?
Food for thought… yes…?”
Marilena Vrana, Vice President of Public Affairs and EU Operations at Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA), shared The Brussels Times‘s post on LinkedIn:
“Still in Belgium this summer?
Blood supplies are currently under pressure, with some blood groups at critically low levels.
If you’re eligible and able, this is a great time to donate.
A single donation can make a life-saving difference for patients in need.”
The Brussels Times shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Those wishing to donate blood can go to various locations across the country.”
