Masudah Paleker: Suboptimal Warfarin Control in South Africa
Masudah Paleker, Public Health Medicine Specialist and Clinical Manager at Western Cape Government, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, adding:
”My MMed Public Health Medicine research, ‘Warfarin time in therapeutic range of primary healthcare patients in the Western Cape Province, South Africa,’ has been published!
We found that the median TTR was 37.7 percent with over 83percent of patients in PHC having suboptimal warfarin control.
Alternative anticoagulants needs to be considered for more broader use in the public sector.”
