“Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS): How it happens in your blood, the warning signs, and what to do about it.

Antiphospholipid Syndrome is an autoimmune disorder that affects your blood’s ability to clot properly, increasing the risk of blood clots in veins and arteries.

It happens when your immune system mistakenly produces antibodies against phospholipids, which are essential for normal blood clotting.

This can lead to complications like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or even strokes and miscarriages.

Warning Signs to Watch For:

  • Unexplained Clots:Sudden swelling or pain in your limbs may signal a clot.
  • Recurrent Miscarriages: Women may experience repeated pregnancy losses.
  • Fatigue and Headaches: Persistent fatigue, migraines, or unexplained headaches can be indicators.
