Can Novel Anticoagulants Reduce Thrombosis Without Increasing Bleeding – JTH

Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Surasak Wichaiyo, published in Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, adding:

“Pharmacology of anticoagulants: from heparin to novel target-specific agents.

This review delineates the pharmacology of currently available anticoagulants (heparins, warfarin, and direct oral anticoagulants) alongside investigational agents.

Factor XI and factor XII inhibitors emerge as targets that may uncouple antithrombotic efficacy from bleeding risk, with several FXI inhibitors now in phase II and III trials.”
