Kaloyan Takov: Native Lp(a) Carries a Distinct Triglyceride Signature Linked to Cardiovascular Disease

Kaloyan Takov, Research Associate at Imperial College London, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Atherosclerosis, adding:

“As results emerge from the first Lp(a)-lowering outcome trials, particularly following the news that Lp(a)HORIZON did not meet its primary endpoint, it is more important than ever to look beyond Lp(a) levels alone and understand its composition.

Check out our new study in Atherosclerosis, showing that native Lp(a) carries a distinct triglyceride signature linked to incident cardiovascular disease.

These findings challenge conventional classifications and support combining better particle separation with novel technologies to capture lipoprotein heterogeneity.”

Title: Lipoprotein(a) carries triglyceride species associated with incident cardiovascular disease
