Joseph Sci Borg: The Haemoglobin Switch as a Programmable Biological Transition
Joseph Sci Borg, Scientist at BioAstra, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The haemoglobin switch may not be a gene switch at all, it may be a programmable transition between two biological states.
And that’s why we are approaching it from different directions.
Earth based research (that has already been going on for high 40 years) , high altitude travel and space flight research (which our groups bring to the table) and a host of other things in between.
Let’s see what we learn next ! But so far it’s incredible what very rare clinical phenotypes in Malta families can reveal.”
