Aymar Akilimali: Bleeding During Anticoagulation as a Potential Signal of Occult Cancer
Aymar Akilimali, Founder and Head of Research at Medical Research Circle – MedReC, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Springer Nature, adding:
“My latest scientific ՛baby,՛ recently published in the Thrombosis Journal ( Springer Nature)
Our review highlights the link between hemorrhages occurring during anticoagulation therapy and a subsequent cancer diagnosis (particularly gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and respiratory cancers).
It also underscores the need for a personalized, risk based diagnostic evaluation, rather than automatically attributing the bleeding solely to the anticoagulant treatment.
Further prospective research is essential to establish evidence based diagnostic pathways and improve clinical decision making.”
