Urge Congress to support the Sickle Cell Disease Comprehensive Care Act – ASH
American Society of Hematology (ASH) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Improving care for people living with sickle cell disease requires addressing gaps across the care journey, including in the emergency department.
Yesterday, ASH joined Sick Cells the Congressional Sickle Cell Disease Caucus, and other sickle cell community groups for a briefing on SCD care in the emergency department, bringing together clinical and community perspectives on opportunities to improve care.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of access to comprehensive, coordinated care for people living with SCD.
The Sickle Cell Disease Comprehensive Care Act (S. 721 / H.R. 5178) would allow state Medicaid programs to establish SCD-focused health homes to help strengthen care coordination and access to critical services.
Urge Congress to support the Sickle Cell Disease Comprehensive Care Act.”
