Astha Thakkar: What Is the Most Important Test for a Bleeding Disorder?
Astha Thakkar, Hematologist and Medical Oncologist at WakeMed, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What is the most important test one needs to assess if a patient has a bleeding disorder?
Well…. It’s not actually a test but it’s very very important to get a clear history of the bleeding episodes.
That is the most important factor that tells us if someone could possibly have a bleeding disorder. The testing comes later.
It’s the history that is the most important.”
