Chaitanya Harita: Presenting AML Research at the British Society for Haematology Annual Scientific Meeting 2026
Chaitanya Harita, Assistant Professor and Consultant – Clinical Haematology, Haemato Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Attended The British Society for Haematology Annual Scientific Meeting in Liverpool in April this year – an extremely rewarding and enriching professional experience.
I was privileged to present two of our original works:
- Induction outcomes in newly diagnosed AML – intensive versus lower-intensity therapy: a single-centre experience.
This work focused on how azacitidine-venetoclax-based approaches are reshaping induction outcomes in newly diagnosed AML, with meaningful responses seen across risk stratification groups. - The molecular biology of acute myeloid leukemia in the Indian context
This work explored how Indian AML patients appear biologically a decade older despite being chronologically younger than their Western counterparts, and how next-generation sequencing at diagnosis is driving a major paradigm shift in AML risk stratification.
Both posters were very well received, and beyond the academic discussions, what made the experience special was the opportunity to meet, learn from, and interact with colleagues from across the world.
Attending the conference was both humbling and inspiring, and it has only strengthened my passion for clinical hematology and research.”
